Howard Court is a beautifully rustic exclusive-use wedding and events venue, situated in picturesque rural North Yorkshire, with stunning views of the Cleveland Hills and Roseberry Topping.
Set in 22 acres of pasture and woodland, our quaint and charming farmhouse and barns provide the perfect setting for the wedding of your dreams.
The 150 year old barns have been lovingly restored, with many of the original features preserved, such as exposed red brick walls, oak beams and floor to ceiling arched windows.

We pride ourselves on offering a ‘blank canvas’ approach. Our ethos is all about creating a relaxing experience for our couples and therefore we never have back-to-back weddings.
The venue is entirely yours to decorate and customise as you see fit. Our couples love that they can move away from the ‘conveyor belt’ of weddings here, and put their own stamp on everything, resulting in a truly unique day tailored to their passions and personalities.

Howard Court is run by Caroline and Jules, a mother and daughter team who love nothing more than to create relaxed, fun and unique weddings. Howard Court has been in the family for over 50 years and we love welcoming guests to our home.
Our team are on hand to ensure your wedding is perfect in every way – so the day flows seamlessly, the little ones are happy and grandma has her cup of tea. We pin on button holes, sew up dresses, rock babies, hand out umbrellas, walk dogs and fix hair. Whatever you need from us, nothing is too big or small an ask.
At Howard Court we are passionate about the environment and sustainability. Our barns are kept snug by ground-source heating (green energy), we distribute food leftovers to local charities, and woe betide anyone who puts a recyclable item in the general waste bin on Caroline’s watch!
We give a 5% discount on fully vegetarian weddings and 10% on fully vegan weddings.
Our Environment
Howard Court is situated between the picturesque village of Great Ayton and the quaint market town of Stokesley.
The venue is in easy reach of York, Leeds, Newcastle and Middlesbrough. There are intercity train stations close by and even a small one in Great Ayton for intrepid travellers! Teesside International Airport is half an hour away.

Yorkshire is right in the heart of the UK, and Howard Court is close to mainline stations and an international airport, so whether your guests are coming from the north, the south or from overseas, distances and accessibility are no problem. The wonderful county of Yorkshire has some of the most stunning scenery in the country from moors to dales and from small hamlets to market towns. So for guests that want to extend their stay either before or after your wedding, there is lots to do and see. The North York Moors are right on our doorstep for keen walkers or for visitors who want to take an exploratory drive along country lanes to see the stunning views. Combine shopping with history and visit York or take a trip to the town of Whitby known for its Captain Cook and Dracula connections.
